The Role

Summary of Job Description:

The Construction Utility Rebate Analyst is a strong individual contributor who is responsible for managing and optimizing utility rebate programs for construction projects. This role involves researching, applying for, and tracking utility rebates to ensure maximum financial benefits for the company. The analyst will work closely with project managers, utility companies and other stakeholders to streamline the rebate processes and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on available utility rebate programs and incentives, specifically addressing New Construction, Capital Projects, and Sustainability projects.
  • Analyst the financial impact of rebate programs on construction projects.
  • Stay updated on changes in utility rebate policies and regulations.

Application and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit rebate applications to utility companies.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Maintain detailed records of all rebate applications and approvals.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with asset team leads to identify eligible projects for rebates.
  • Coordinate with utility companies to resolve any issues related to rebate applications.
  • Communicate rebate program details and updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal Sustainability stakeholders to maximize efficient use and effectiveness of Sustainability funds across the portfolio.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline rebate application processes.
  • Develop and implement best practices for managing utility rebates.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on rebate processes.


Reporting and Compliance:

  • Generate regular reports on rebate application status and financial impact.
  • Ensure compliance with all utility rebate program requirements.
  • Assist in audits and reviews related to utility rebates.

Non-Essential Functions:

All other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Education:

Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction, and/or related field in the multi-family/property management industry.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility rebate management or a similar role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet customer-initiated deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of utility rebate programs and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and sustainability initiatives.
  • Certification in energy management or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of conceptual and detailed construction pricing, building construction systems, multi-family development and processes.
  • Ability to interpret one-dimensional design plans into three-dimensional space and apply costs.
  • Skilled in interfacing with senior leadership to obtain support and required resources.

Training:

  • Satisfactory completion of AVB’s new hire orientation within 30 days of employment or the first training session offered after employment.
