The Role
AvalonBay is redefining how we deliver exceptional living experiences—and we’re looking for a Senior Manager, Operations to help shape what’s next.
In this high‑impact role, you’ll partner closely with Operations and Product leadership to design the next generation of our operating model. You’ll play a critical role in improving the customer and associate experience, driving operational efficiency, and enabling scalable growth across the organization.
What You’ll Do
Partner with Operations leaders to shape and execute strategic initiatives aligned to business priorities
Analyze customer, financial, and operational data to uncover insights and drive informed decision‑making
Design future‑state customer and associate journeys, processes, and organizational structures
Collaborate with senior leaders and frontline teams to translate strategy into action
Define success metrics and performance indicators to measure impact
Assess technology needs and support operational enablement initiatives
Develop executive‑ready materials including business cases, memos, and presentations
Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, process improvement, or related roles
Proven experience leading cross‑functional initiatives in complex environments
Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or service operations process improvement
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Comfort operating in ambiguity and navigating change
Experience designing customer and/or associate journeys
Change management experience with demonstrated results
