The Role

The Manager, Instructional Design, partners with business leaders to identify and address learning and development needs across business knowledge, interpersonal skills, professional development, business software applications, and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for conducting needs analyses, designing and implementing training programs, managing learning systems, and supporting organizational change initiatives. The Manager ensures the successful adoption of new processes, systems, and tools to maximize employee performance while overseeing aspects of the company’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and implement blended learning solutions, including online courses, instructor-led training, job aids, and quick reference guides.
  • Leverage instructional technology and media tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia) to create engaging learning content.
  • Maintain and update training materials to align with business needs and best practices.

Learning Needs Assessment

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify performance gaps, learning objectives, and training priorities.
  • Analyze learning effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly.

Program & Training Delivery Management

  • Oversee training program logistics, including scheduling, communication, and implementation.
  • Develop and facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs to equip leaders and subject matter experts with effective training skills.

Change Management & Learning Support

  • Provide training support for organizational changes, system implementations, and process updates.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop learning solutions and communications that drive employee adoption.

Learning Management System Administration

  • Administer and manage the LMS, including course creation, program scheduling, and enrollment monitoring.
  • Manage the Workday Learning Help Desk, addressing user inquiries and providing training on system capabilities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Stay informed on instructional design trends, learning technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Support additional learning initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • OR a Certificate in Instructional Design and 7+ years of experience designing and implementing learning solutions.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, and training delivery in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Professional Services, Real Estate, or Hospitality industries is a plus.
  • Proficiency in instructional technology tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, and other e-learning development platforms.
  • Experience managing LMS platforms and supporting training programs.
  • Background in digital product rollouts, communication campaigns, or organizational learning initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles.
  • Ability to design and develop competency-based learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of training industry trends, vendor products, and emerging learning technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
